1. Revolve a spline curve to create a smooth surface.
2. Create a 2D rectangle at the center of the form and be sure the object's axes is at its center. If not then use the Edit Object Axes tool to move it to the center.
3. Select Keyframe Animate tool, (located in Animation Workspace), and click on the rectangle. In the Animation Editor palette select the Rotation X track, (it should highlight blue), then click the Options button and choose Add Controllers, select Noise option and click OK button. Select the Noise Controller, (it should highlight blue), then click the Options button and choose Controller Options. In the Noise Controller Options dialog change Strength = 90°, then click OK button. Note, you can also increase or decrease the Frequency value to expand or contract the rate of random variation of the rotation angle. Perform the same procedure for the Rotation Y track. In this example it is recommended to have a different Noise Frequency for the Rotation X and Rotation Y. Drag the timeline marquee in the Animation TimeLine palette and observe the 2D rectangle randomly rotates about its axes.
4. Select the Extract Animation tool and in Tool Options set Interval to 0.5 Sec and turn OFF Extract Trail, then click on the animated 2D rectangle. Observe that 20 new randomly rotated rectangles are created. Note, a new object is created at each 0.5 second interval during the 10 sec animation.
5. Use Line of Intersection tool to derive a spline curve where each plane intersects the form. Note, the Line of Intersection tool only works on two objects at a time and will ghost the original operands so you’ll have to unghost the form after each operation for all 20 rectangles.
6. Sweep a small circle along each derived line. Note, set Display Resolution low for all these smooth generated objects.
7. We created a material with a red Color and Glass Accurate Reflection to emulate the red drizzle glaze in the Tip Here.
