If the license server is not finding your licenses, when you're logged in and the top-right corner of the page does not list your Chaos account username, it is likely that your license server preferences have become corrupt. Follow these steps to perform a clean installation of the license server.
On Mac:
- First uninstall the license server. Click on Finder then navigate to Applications -->
Chaos --> VRLService --> uninstall. Doubleclick the Uninstall icon enter
your user`s password if required and follow the instructions of the uninstall wizard. - When the uninstall of the license server is complete click on Finder again then on the
drop down menu Go --> Go to Folder. - A popup window will appear type:
/Users/TYPE_YOUR_CURRENT_MAC_USER_HERE/.ChaosGroup inside and press the
Go button. For example, if the username was 'support' the path would look like this:
/Users/support/.ChaosGroup
Note: To see the user you are currently logged in on your Mac (the one you need to type
above), go to System preferences --> Users & Groups. - After that just right click on the .ChaosGroup folder and select Move to Trash/Bin. Note the dot
"." in front of Chaosgroup in the name, that means the folder is hidden. If it doesn't look the
same as in the screenshot on your Mac simply select the column view (see the red arrow).
- Download the license server from Step 2 of this page, where V-Ray for form•Z 5 can also be found:
https://support.formz.com/hc/en-us/articles/25755960562835-V-Ray-5-for-form-Z-Download.
When the download is complete double click the installation file (or right click and select
Open if it shows a warning and you have only Ok button) click Next and then click on the
Customize button, uncheck the "Activate during installation" box, leave everything
else as it is. Continue the installation and if you see an error message click on the Ignore
button. The installation will finish.- If Apple prevents the installation, Go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > General and choose "App Store and identified developers."
For OSX 14, it's called Privacy and Security and you just need to scroll to the bottom of the list.
- Keep that window up and try installing again. It should work this time around, but if you get another message go back to the Security and Privacy page.
In the bottom right corner of the General page there will be a message telling you the installation was blocked. Click the "open anyway" button.
- If Apple prevents the installation, Go to System Preferences > Security and Privacy > General and choose "App Store and identified developers."
- When the installation is finished open in your web browser http://127.0.0.1:30304/#/ and
refresh the page until you see the license server page. If you didn't already during
installation, you'll need to login with the email associated with your licenses. You can
either click on Online licensing and then on the Sign in button or simply click the blue
Sign in link on the front page.
On Windows:
- Close formZ
- Uninstall 'Chaos License Server' and 'Chaos Unified Login' from Window's Add or Remove Programs utility
- Navigate to C:\Users\[current user]\AppData\Roaming. (If you do not see the AppData folder, turn on Show Hidden Files in the Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization.)
- Delete the folder named Chaos
